America’s Land Auctioneer
Crop Disease and Prevention with Sam Markell & Andrew Friskrop, Plant Pathologoists at NDSU!
November 05, 2021 12:00 PM
This week America’s Land Auctioneer, Kevin Pifer, is joined by Sam Markell and Andrew Friskrop, Plant Pathologists with North Dakota State University.  Sam and Andrew have extensive experience in the field of Plant Pathology across a broad spectrum of crops.

Sam and Andrew highlight the different diseases farmers face every new crop year and some of the measures that can be taken to minimize crop diseases.  One of the best methods to minimize crop disease is crop rotation.  Others are genetics, seed treatment and timely application of fungicides. There are a number of emerging issues and new pathogens that concern growers in the region.  Some are affecting certain crops more than others.  What’s more, Sam and Andrew meticulously describe the emerging issues and what growers can do to minimize their adverse effect on crop yields.
